VERBAL REASONING TEST
This is a test of your ability to understand, interpret and use written information.
In the real test you will have 15 minutes to answer 20 questions. The questions will be given across four scenarios (sections).
In this familiarisation session, you will be shown examples of the type of scenarios and questions you will be given in the real test. There will be 12 example questions across 4 example scenarios. You will have 9 minutes to complete the 12 questions.

Three friends are deciding what to do on a night out together. Rory enjoys going to the cinema the most. His second favourite activity is bowling. His next choice would be going for a meal, and then a concert. Arun’s least favourite activity is bowling. He most enjoys going for a meal and then going to a concert. His second least favourite is the cinema. Zara would go to a concert, but does not like the cinema. Her favourite activity is going bowling and then going for a meal.
If any member of staff breaks the company rules in the warehouse, there is a set procedure to be followed, depending on which has been broken and the number of times it has been broken in the past. Special conditions apply in some cases. The disciplinary rules are outlined below, but the secretary has not yet finished typing the rules for packing items incorrectly.

Numerical Reasoning Test
This is a test of your ability to work with fractions, decimals and formulae, as well as your ability to understand, interpretate and use numbers in graphs and tables.
You cannot use the calculator or multi-function watches to work out the answers. However, you can use paper and pencil for your calculation, if required.
There are two parts to this test.

Numerical Reasoning Test
Part 2 Instructions
This part of the numerical test assesses your ability to understand, interpretate and use numerical information in the form of graphs and tables.
In the real test you will have 11 minutes to answer 15 questions. The questions will be given across four scenarios (sections).
In this familiarisation session, you will be shown examples of the type of scenarios and questions that you will be given in the real test. There will be 9 example questions across 3 example scenarios. You will have 6.5 minutes to complete the 9 questions.

The bar chart below shows the number of buttons manufactured by a factory between 2018 and 2022.

The table shows the June sale record of Zed Ltd. a company that specialises in car parts. It lists parts that have been sold and delivered to garages located in different areas of the country. However, the clerk has yet to enter some of the figures.

Work Rate Test
This is a test of your ability to work through routine tasks quickly and accurately.

In each question you will be shown a grid like the one below.
Boxes in each row will be filled with different types of images.
The first row will have either letters or words, the second row will have either numbers or arithmetic signs, and the third row will have pictures.

Below each grid, you will be given a Code made up of either three LETTERS or three NUMBERS. Each one is taken from a separate column in the grid.
For example, the Code could be R D S as shown above. For every item in the Code, it has two alternatives listed in the same column in the grid.

Spatial Reasoning Test
This is a test of your ability to work with shapes and objects.
There are two parts to this test.
Spatial Reasoning Test
Part 1 Instructions
This part of the test assesses how well you can visualise shapes and move them around in your mind.
In each question, you will be shown either three or four shapes. You have to imagine what they will look like when they are joined together.
All of the shapes have at least one side that is labelled with a letter (either x, y or z). You will have to place the sides with the same labels next to each other to form a new shape. You may have to rotate the shapes round. An example is shown below.

In each question, you will be given five possible answers for what the new shape might look like. You have to decide which is the correct one.

Spatial Reasoning Test
Part 2 Instructions
This part of the test assesses your ability to imagine what three-dimensional objects will look like after they have been rotated.
In each question, you will be shown two objects, each with a dot placed in one corner.
For example:
In each question, you will be given five options showing the same two objects after each has been rotated in some way.
Imagine what the objects will look like after they are rotated, and decide whether the dots are still in the same corners.
Only one of the options shows both dots placed in the same corners as in the original diagram.

Remember like this practice test, the real DAA is strictly timed. Do not spend too much time on any one question and try and answer as many questions as you can in the time allowed.
There are a wide range of roles available in the RAF, all requiring different scores on the DAA, so do not get disheartened if you got some questions wrong or ran out of time.
